Download Torrent using your Symbian phones.
SymTorrent is the first full-featured and complete BitTorrent client for Symbian OS. Like all other Torrent clients it is capable of downloading multiple torrent files at the same time, can save the status of your unfinished torrents, so you can resume the downloads after restarting the application. You can also check the status of each file inside a torrent along with several other statistics and properties during download.
As per their website, it is currently available for mobile devices based on the S60 Platform 3rd and 2nd edition. So thats a lot of phones, most Nokia Nseries/Eseries phones are on S60 platform.
For downloading torrents on your phone(or computer), I suggest you use an unlimited data plan. I used Airtel GPRS, unlimited data plan for Rs 99 a week. The download speed, as you can see from the pic above, was around 20kbps.
I think thats pretty good for a GPRS connection. I have already downloaded some songs using SymTorrent.
But sometimes it tend to crash, I guess it coz I run too many applications at the same time. Apart from that, this is a really good application and all those who wants to download torrents directly to your phones should definitely give it a try. It’s open source and free.
